JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position will provide training and technical assistance to ESC Region 12 public and charter school districts in the area of Child Nutrition Services.

Who we are: We are a nonprofit service organization devoted to supporting educators and school personnel in their efforts to increase student achievement.

What we do: We provide cost-effective professional development opportunities, expert assistance, direct services, and alternative certifications to educators and school personnel.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
* Coordinate and sponsor regional training in all phases of program operations for the School/Child Nutrition Program staff and for the Child and Adult Care Food Program
* Provide training and technical assistance to regional districts regarding the School/Child Nutrition Program and Child and Adult Care Food Program.
* Provide effective child nutrition program management guidance to regional schools
* Attend required state and staff meetings scheduled by the Texas Department of Agriculture
* Attend and participate in special committees and workgroups as directed by TDA
* Maintain program budgets, reporting information, and client files according to TDA guidelines
* Teach three, one to three-day courses at regional School/Child Nutrition Program workshops through the months of May, June, July, and August

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelor's degree, required. Preferred areas of study: Institutional Management, Nutrition, Family and Consumer Science, Public Health, Education or related field
* Master's degree, preferred
* Licensed or Registered Dietician, preferred
* Minimum of three years experience in the management of the school or institutional food service operations, preferred
* Minimum of three years of training experience with adults

 


* Excellent presentation skills providing clear concise delivery of course materials
* Ability to work cooperatively with staff and clients
* Knowledge of federal and state mandates and guidelines for the Child Nutrition Program
* Technology applications skills using Microsoft Office Suite

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
* ESC Region 12 provides monetary contributions up to $575 per month to use for employee/family healthcare and supplemental benefits.
* Employee earns state personal, sick, and vacation leave.
* All employees contribute to both: the Teachers Retirement System (TRS) and Social Security retirement programs
