Job Description

This Librarian position will support school districts in ESC Region 12 districts enrolled in the Personnel on Demand program providing librarian services including but not limited to the items listed below.  The position could be full or part-time.  The salary shown depends on the percentage worked.

• Develop and carry out plans to help staff and students to utilize the library resources
• Maintain accurate records of inventory, materials, and technology
• Maintain professional relationships with school district staff and administration
• Effectively communicate with staff and administration on issues concerning the library
• Keep library collection (books and materials) relevant and up to date
• Encourage use of technology in the library for research and discovery
• Travel within the ESC Region 12 regional area required

Education/Certification

• Master's Degree or appropriate Librarian Certification
• Valid Texas Teaching Certification

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Knowledge of library-specific software deployment
• Knowledge of all laws and regulations concerning library operations
• Knowledge of copyright laws and regulations
• Capability to research
• Organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Technology application skills
• Strong organization, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to initiate and complete projects
